Flyers and posters

Why this one should be dynamic

A flyer is the one printed thing whose success nobody can measure. Five thousand go out, something happens to sales, and the connection is a guess. A dynamic code is the only cheap way to turn that guess into a number - and to keep the leftovers useful after the campaign ends.

Attribution

Find out if the print run worked

Scans per day against distribution dates is the closest a flyer gets to a click-through rate.

Placement

Compare locations

A different code per district or venue shows which drop is worth repeating and which one went in the bin.

Afterwards

Re-point the leftovers

When the event sells out, send the same stack of flyers to the waiting list or the next date instead of recycling them.

Before it goes to print

The spec sheet for this job

A code that scans on a screen can still fail on paper. These are the numbers that decide it.

Print one at final size, on the final material, and scan it from where a real person will stand - across a table, at arm's length, from the pavement. Do that before the run, not after. It is the only test that matters, and it takes a minute.

A5 flyer
25-30 mm square
A3 poster
60 mm, read from 1-2 m away
Street poster
One tenth of the intended scan distance
Placement
Waist to eye height, not near the floor
Background
Solid panel behind the code, never a photo
Call to action
Name the reward: menu, tickets, discount

Our policy

Static codes never expire. Dynamic codes work while you have a plan.

A static QR code carries its destination inside the pattern itself. There is no redirect, no server, nothing anyone can switch off - so the ones you make here are yours forever, free, with no account and no expiry date. If what you need is a code that outlives us, make it static and print it.

A dynamic code is different: it points at a redirect we run on your behalf every time somebody scans it, which is what lets you change the destination after printing. That runs while you have a plan. Cancel and it keeps working for 30 more days, we email you before anything changes, and nothing is ever deleted - your codes, links and scan history all wait for you.

Questions

Flyers and posters, answered

How big should a QR code be on a flyer?
Roughly one tenth of the distance it will be scanned from. Twenty-five millimetres works in the hand; a poster read from two metres needs about 200 mm.
Can I tell how many people scanned my flyer?
With a dynamic code, yes: scans per day, by city and by device. A static code tells you nothing, because the scan never touches us.
Should each version of the flyer have its own code?
If you want to compare them, yes. One code per version or per location is what makes the numbers mean something.
Can I reuse leftover flyers for the next campaign?
Yes, if the code is dynamic. Change the destination and the stack in the cupboard points at the new thing.
What happens if I stop paying after the campaign?
The code keeps redirecting to the last destination you set, so flyers still in circulation keep working. Editing and analytics pause until you reactivate.
