Pick what the code opens: a link, Wi-Fi, a contact card and more
Paste a link from Google, YouTube or Maps and the generator flags the usual mistakes. It refuses a Google Form edit link and offers a short link for a long one.

Five links people get wrong
- Google Forms: Use the link from Send, never the one you see while editing. Google Form QR code
- Google Docs and Drive: Set access to Anyone with the link, then test on a phone that isn’t signed in.
- Google Maps: Tap Share on the place and copy its link. Location QR code
- App Store or Google Play: One store’s link fails on the other kind of phone. An app code sends each phone to its own store. App store QR code
- Google reviews: Copy the link from Get more reviews in your Business Profile. It opens the review box. Google review QR code
Want answers, not a link? A QR Form asks your questions with no Google account, and the answers come back added up. QR Forms and Google Forms.
A dynamic QR code stays the same. Where it goes can change.
It holds a short link we run, not your web address. Change where that link goes and every printed copy follows.
Printed · never changes
Where it goes · change it any time
Static QR codes never expire. Editable ones keep working while people scan them.
A static code holds your link in its squares, so nobody can switch it off, us included. An editable code runs through a short link we keep. It works on every plan, Free included.

Do my codes stop working if I cancel?
Not while people keep scanning them. When a paid plan ends, every code works for at least 90 days. After that, a code pauses only if it goes 90 days without a scan.
We email you first and delete nothing. Pay again and paused codes come back on.
We switch off codes used for scams
Phishing, malware and fraud are switched off as soon as we confirm them, with no grace period, under our acceptable use policy.
Make it scan the first time: strong contrast, a clear border, the right size
- Keep strong contrast. Any colours work if one is clearly darker than the other.
- Leave the blank border. Phones use the empty space around the code to find it.
- Test with two phones from where people will stand, before you print.
- Print it big enough. Work out the size for your distance.
Yes, it’s free: unlimited static codes and 3 editable ones
Free plan: 3 editable codes that never expire unless a paid plan ends, unlimited scans, no limit on how often you change where they point, and 90 days of scan history.
Need more? Starter holds 100 editable codes for $5 a month. See every plan.
Questions before you print
- Do I need an account to make a QR code?
- No. Make a static code and download it with no account. You only need a free account for a code you want to edit later, because it’s saved there.
- Can a QR code be inverted or in colour?
- Yes. Dark and Blueprint put light squares on a dark background, and Espresso, Terracotta, Botanical, Kraft and Badge are in colour. We warn you below 3:1 contrast.
- Can QR codes be tracked?
- Editable ones can. Each scan is counted by day and country on every plan, and Starter adds the device. A static code can’t be counted, because scanning it never reaches us. What QR code tracking shows.
