App Store QR code that opens the right store

Paste your App Store and Google Play links. Each phone that scans it is sent to its own store, so the box, the poster and the receipt need only one code.

Dynamic & Editable

Always on: only a code that goes through us can send each phone to its own link.

Where iPhones and iPads go: your App Store link, or any link that starts https://.

Where Android phones go: your Google Play link, or any link that starts https://. One of the two is enough.

Computers and other phones. Leave it empty and they get a page with both store buttons.

Your code is drawn as you type.

Dynamic codes live in your account

That is what lets you change where it points after it is printed, and see every scan. The content and design you set up here come with you.

Free includes 3 dynamic codes. No card needed.

App download codes

Why this one should be dynamic

A QR code holds a single link, and a store listing only opens on one kind of phone. Print the App Store link alone and every Android scan lands on a page it cannot install from. This code therefore goes through us: when somebody scans, we read which system their phone runs and forward it, so the choice is made per scan rather than at print time.

iPhone and iPad

Your App Store listing, no detour

Apple devices go to your apps.apple.com page, which iOS hands to the App Store app. Nobody picks from a menu first.

Android

Your Google Play page

Android phones go to the Play listing for your package name. Paste the link from the Play Console or from the store itself; we keep only the part that identifies the app.

Everything else

A fallback, or both buttons

Laptops, desktop scanners and anything we cannot identify go to the fallback link you set, usually your website. Leave it empty and they get a small page with your app name and a button for each store.

Before it goes to print

The spec sheet for this job

An app code is usually read by somebody who has never heard of the app, so the words beside it matter as much as the code: say what they get and that it works on both phones. Official store badges printed beside it are optional and come from Apple and Google under their own usage rules; the code does not need them. Before approving the proof, scan it with one iPhone and one Android phone. Each should open the link meant for it, and if both open the same one, a link was pasted into the wrong field.

What lasts: static codes are yours forever, with no account. Dynamic codes run on a plan and keep working for 30 days after you cancel. How printed codes stay working

Static or dynamic

Which one belongs on this

This type is always dynamic, because one fixed link cannot open the App Store on an iPhone and Google Play on Android. If your app is on one store and will stay there, a free static website code pointing at that listing is enough. When the second store comes along, that print is out of date.

Static is free forever. Dynamic is free for 3 codes, then from $12 a month.

Questions

App download codes, answered

Can one QR code work for both iPhone and Android?
Yes. We check which phone is scanning: iPhones and iPads go to the first link you saved, Android phones to the second. You print one code instead of two side by side.
What does somebody scanning from a laptop see?
Your fallback link, if you set one. Without it they get a page with your app’s name and a button for each store, each saying which phones it is for.
The app is only on one store so far. Can I add the other later?
Yes. Save it with the one link you have, then add the second listing when that version launches. Codes already on shelves start sending those phones to it from the next scan.
Does each link have to be a store listing?
No. Either field also takes any https link, such as a TestFlight invite, a beta sign-up form or a download page on your own site. We check every link when you save, and refuse anything pretending to be one of the stores.
Are App Store campaign links and Play referrer tags kept?
No. We store each listing in its plain form, the app id on Apple and the package name on Google, so tracking parameters are dropped. Count the scans in the code’s own analytics instead.
Is an app download QR code free?
It is a dynamic code, so it needs an account. Free includes 3 of them at no cost, and this uses one.

Sending phones to different places is one case of smart QR codes that route by device, country or time, and every app code is one of our dynamic QR codes you can edit after printing. Shipping codes from your own build? The API docs for app store codes takes the same two links. Plan limits are on the pricing page.
