Why does scanning my Google Form ask people to sign in?

Because of a setting in the form, not the code. Google asks for a sign-in when the form takes one response per person, has a file upload question, or only lets your school, company or a group answer. Turn those off if anyone who scans should be able to answer.

Can I put a pre-filled Google Form link in a QR code?

Yes. In the form, choose More, then Pre-fill form, fill in the answers and press Get link. A code per table or per room can then arrive with its number already filled in. Pre-filled links are long, so the code is dense; an editable code holds a short link instead.

Can I make a code for somebody else’s Google Form?

Yes. A code only needs the responder link, which anyone who can answer the form already has. You won’t see the answers, and if the owner replaces the form you’ll need their new link.

In the form, choose Published or Share, then Copy responder link. Tick Shorten URL for a forms.gle link: fewer characters, bigger squares, a quicker scan.

The address in your browser while you build the form is the editing link. Printed, it asks every scanner for access, so the field above refuses it. It refuses a link ending in formResponse too, which submits the form instead of opening it.
