QR TIGER alternative, and the line on their free tier worth reading
Their ladder starts cheaper than ours and holds more codes for the money in the middle, and this page says so in its own section rather than burying it. What it argues about instead is the metering: a free dynamic code on their price list stops at 500 scans, and scans here are uncapped on every plan. Their figures were read from their own price list on 21 September 2026.
3 editable codes, no scan cap, no card.
- Their price list read 21 September 2026
- No scan cap on any plan here
- No logo popup, ever
On this page
Two free tiers, one of them metered
Both free tiers offer three dynamic codes and unlimited static ones, which makes them look interchangeable. They are not, and the reason is a single cell on their price list.
A dynamic code on their free tier is listed at 500 scans. That is not a trial length or a monthly refill on their page — it is a number attached to the code. Their free tier is also listed as carrying their logo popup, which the paid tiers describe as removed.
Five hundred scans sounds generous until you have watched a code go out on something people actually pick up. A café table card in a busy week, a conference badge, a poster in a station: any of those can pass five hundred in days, and a code that has stopped counting is a code whose numbers you can no longer trust, on the exact campaign that was working. The honest version of that sentence is the awkward one: you find out afterwards.
Scans are never counted against a plan here, free included. Not capped, not charged for, not rate-limited — a single code can take a million and cost the same as a code nobody scans. It is a deliberate choice about where the money comes from rather than a headline limit, and it is the one difference on this page that changes what you can safely print.
Their monthly prices, and what we could not read
Their half is copied from their price list on 21 September 2026; ours is read from the file the product enforces. Prices are US dollars, and "not stated" means their page gives no figure, which is not a zero.
| Plan | Price | Codes | Scans | People | Also listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| QR TIGER — its own figures, monthly | |||||
| Free | $0 | 3 dynamic, unlimited static | 500 per dynamic code | Not stated | Basic scan analytics, with their logo popup |
| Regular | US$7 a month | 12 dynamic | Unlimited | 1 | Ads-free, 500 API requests, uploads to 5MB |
| Advanced | US$16 a month | 200 dynamic | Unlimited | 2 | 3,000 API requests, 3,000 a batch, white label |
| Premium | US$37 a month | 600 dynamic | Unlimited | 2 | 10,000 API requests, 3,000 a batch, uploads to 20MB |
| QRSalt — live at once, scans uncounted | |||||
| Free | Free a month | 3 editable, unlimited static | Unlimited | 1 | 90 days of history, 0 custom domains |
| Starter | $12 a month | 100 dynamic, unlimited static | Unlimited | 1 | 365 days of history, 1 custom domains |
| Pro | $39 a month | 600 dynamic, unlimited static | Unlimited | 10 | Unlimited of history, 10 custom domains |
| Business | $99 a month | 2,000 dynamic, unlimited static | Unlimited | 25 | Unlimited of history, 50 custom domains |
Two gaps in that table are ours, not theirs. Their price list has a switch between monthly and annual billing that our reading of the page could not turn, so no yearly figure of theirs appears here; and one article on their own site refers to a tier above Premium that the price list did not show us. Both are left blank rather than guessed, because a number printed beside a company’s name has to have come from that company.
One more thing worth saving you a trip: their price list is at /payment, not /pricing, which answers 404, and the older qrtiger.com address redirects somewhere else entirely. Check the figures there rather than trusting a rival’s summary, this one included.
Where QR TIGER is the better buy
Four of them, and the first is about money. If one describes the work in front of you, buy theirs.
A cheaper first step, and more codes in the middle
Their cheapest paid tier is US$7 for 12 dynamic codes; ours is $12 for 100. Their US$16 tier holds 200 against our 100 at $12, and their US$37 holds 600 — the same number our Pro plan holds at $39. Counted purely as codes per dollar, their middle is better than ours and no reading of the grid changes it.
An API on the cheapest paid tier
Their price list gives every paid tier a monthly request allowance, starting at 500 on the US$7 plan. Ours begins higher up, with Pro and Business, so anyone whose first requirement is programmatic creation on a small budget is looking at their list, not ours.
A much longer list of code types
Their homepage offers WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Review, Google Form, MP3 and video among two dozen or so types. Ours covers thirteen and has no WhatsApp, TikTok, Pinterest or Google Review type at all — a link to any of those is a website code here.
A bigger file behind a code
Their tiers name upload ceilings of 5MB, 10MB and 20MB, and their types include audio and video. Here the only file you can put behind a code is a PDF. If the code has to open a video you host with the same company, theirs does that and ours does not.
Where this side is the better buy
Each of these is enforced by the product today, on the plan named beside it.
- Scans are never counted against you. Not on any plan, and not on the free one. Their price list caps a free dynamic code at 500 scans; the 3 free codes here have no ceiling at all, so a code that unexpectedly does well does not go quiet halfway through a campaign.
- Nothing of ours appears on the code. No logo popup, no interstitial and no account, on the free plan or without one. Their free tier is listed with their logo popup, removed from the US$7 tier upwards.
- Ten people, then twenty-five. Their US$16 and US$37 tiers each list 2 users. Pro here holds 10 at $39 and Business holds 25, with 10 separate workspaces. A marketing team of five is a different shape of purchase on the two lists.
- A spreadsheet at the first paid step. Bulk creation appears on their US$16 tier. It is on Starter and up here, so the job of turning a list into a hundred named codes with their own short links costs $12 rather than more than twice that.
- Your own hostname at the same step. Their white label sits on the US$16 tier. A verified domain such as go.yourbrand.com is included from Starter here — 1 of them, rising to 10 and 50.
- Codes that keep redirecting after you stop paying. Every code goes on working for 90 days past its last scan, so one still in circulation is never switched off, and an email comes before anything pauses. Their pricing page states nothing about what happens to a code when a subscription ends, which is not the same as nothing happening.
Reading two price lists without fooling yourself
Worth two minutes before you put the two grids beside each other, because the arithmetic that feels obvious is the wrong arithmetic.
Tier names carry no information across companies. Their Premium is a US$37 plan and our plan at the nearest price is called Pro; nothing follows from the words. The same trap catches the word “white label”, which on their list is the ability to serve codes from a hostname of yours, the thing we call a custom domain.
The comparison that does hold is a shopping list. Count the printed things that must be working at the same time — not the codes you expect to create, which is a different and usually larger number. Add the people who need to log in. Add how far back you will be asked to report. Then read both price lists for the cheapest row that covers all three.
Run that on a team of four keeping eighty codes alive and wanting a year of history and the answer is Starter on codes but Pro on people, because their mid tiers list two seats. Run it on one person with twelve codes and theirs at US$7 is the cheaper answer, plainly. Which is the point: the grid does not decide it, your shopping list does. Ours is set out feature by feature so that list can be checked against it.
Choosing between them, answered
What is the catch on QR TIGER’s free plan?
Their price list states two things about it: a dynamic code is capped at 500 scans, and the free tier carries their logo popup. Both are removed from the US$7 tier up. Read on 21 September 2026, and worth re-reading at the link below before you rely on either number.
How many free codes does each side give?
Three dynamic codes on both, plus unlimited static codes on both. The difference is what happens after the third: theirs stop counting at 500 scans each, while the 3 here have unlimited scans and 90 days of history.
Which is cheaper?
Theirs, at the bottom and in the middle: US$7 against $12 for a first paid step, and US$16 for 200 codes against $12 for 100. Ours is the cheaper answer for a team, because their two mid tiers list 2 users and Pro here holds 10.
Do the tier names mean the same thing on both lists?
No, and they should not be read across. Their Premium is a US$37 plan; our top plan is called Business and costs $99. Compare a price against a price and a limit against a limit — matching names on two price lists is a coincidence, not a mapping.
Why does this page show no yearly prices?
Because we could not read them from their own page. The price list has a monthly and annual switch that our reading of the page did not resolve, and one of their own articles mentions a tier the price list did not show us. Rather than reprint a figure from somewhere else with their name on it, this page prints the monthly prices their page did state and says the rest is unread.
Can I try both before deciding?
Yes, and it is the only sensible way to choose. Both have a free tier that needs no card. Make one code on each, print it on something real, move it once, and see which dashboard you would rather open on a Monday — Free here is 3 editable items with no expiry date.
